Cinépolis Junior Mexico

Cinépolis USA, a subsidiary of Mexican movie theater chain Cinépolis, recently opened its first two children’s auditoriums in the US. The family-friendly offer is named “Cinépolis Junior” and is designed to cater to the needs of younger cinema guests and can now be experienced at Cinépolis Pico Rivera in Los Angeles/CA (with 133 seats) and at Cinépolis Vista in San Diego/CA (with 134 seats). The new auditoriums feature a dedicated play area with bright and colorful play structures, comfortable seating alternatives such as lounge chairs and vibrant décor. The play structure holds two slides and two main platforms which each feature a series of playground equipment, including a “Stand n’ Spin” merry-go-round and rounded, hanging “Fun Forest Bags” filled with foam. Furthermore, both cinema sites opened a new kitchen and an expanded concession stand to offer kid-friendly menues and elevated snack favorites.

“The opportunity to introduce Cinépolis Junior and what it represents – a new way to help loved ones come together and enjoy the arts – to the U.S. market is an honor,” said Adrian Mijares Elizondo, CEO of Cinépolis USA. “As the entertainment industry continues to evolve, we are pleased to be a pioneer and continue our innovation in the exhibitor space with our newest theater concept. To help new guests fall in love with movies is our goal, and to do it in a way that caters to every need is our mission,” he added.

The proven concept of Cinépolis Junior was first introduced by the Mexican mother company at locations in Mexico, Costa Rica, Guatemala and Spain. With nearly 600 cinema complexes across 13 countries, Cinépolis is currently the fourth largest movie theater exhibitor in the world. (eap)
