Belgium: Sunparks Ardennes Becomes Center Parcs Les Ardennes

Belgium’s existing Sunparks Ardennen (a Center Parcs’ brand) vacation destination located in Vielsalm will change its name to Center Parcs Les Ardennes, offering guests a new and refurbished relaxation offer.

French operating company Groupe Pierre & Vacances Center Parcs invests around 35 million Euros into the modernization of Sunparks Ardennes, including the development of the brand’s typical Market Dome and Aqua Mundo waterpark. The destination's characteristic castle will be renovated turning it into a wellness center: two sauna facilities, a steam bath and a whirlpool will offer relaxation for guests. The main building will become a Market Dome including a range of restaurants, bars and a supermarket. The current Aqua Fun bathing complex will be refurbished, to re-open as Aqua Mundo with tropical beach flair. Its highlights will be a double slide (a Duo Racer from Van Egdom, presumably feat. a speed measurement system) and a large relaxation area. The existing “Hall of Sports” will be transformed into an “Action Factory”, offering a wide range of sport activities, entertainment and relaxation. Furthermore, guests can already look forward to a “High Adventure” high ropes course, a black light crazy golf structure, a cycle center, a laser maze and the Baluba indoor play area.

In addition to this, the existing 350 holiday homes (each offering room for up to 20 persons) will see a renovation. In the future, overnight guests can choose accommodation out of the three Center Parcs’ categories Comfort, Premium and VIP. A large part of the holiday homes will be for sale as an attractive investment option in real-estate. The official opening date of Center Parcs Les Ardennes is December 22nd, 2017 in due time for this year’s Christmas holidays. (eap)
