Spain/USA: Hard Rock International Presents Plans for New Large-Scale Project

Vila-seca, a smaller city near the Catalan metropolis of Barcelona, will be home to a new large-scale tourism center under the name Hard Rock Entertainment World as one of Europe’s largest resort destinations, comprising several hotels, convention areas, world-class entertainment, dining and shopping facilities. The preliminary decision to award to the contract from the Catalan government is expected to be presented by July 28th. Hard Rock Entertainment World will replace the existing BCN World, a place hosting casinos and a range of amenities.

“We expect that the investment sum for the first phase will amount to more than 600 million Euros. It is estimated, that the project creates over 11,500 direct and indirect construction and ongoing jobs, with an economic impact to the region of some 1.3 million Euros,” states a press release issued by the Orlando/FL-based company. The first phase includes the construction of two hotel operations, a casino and a shopping center with 75 retail stores. Further plans of the company foresee a range of leisure offers to be located close to PortAventura amusement park. (eap)
