China/USA: Chimelong Paradise Launches Sky Rocket II Coaster

Following the opening of “Hype” – a “Sky Rocket II” rollercoaster from US manufacturer Premier Rides – at Finland’s Särkänniemi Theme Park in the middle of this year (cf. EAP, 6/17), the Chinese Chimelong Paradise amusement park in Guangzhou now also thrills visitors with a triple launch coaster of this type.

The multi-million dollar coaster, which was launched this week, features the supplier’s advanced magnetic drive technology. At a maximum speed of 100 km/h, riders enjoy a versatile track layout including multiple launches, a twisting heartline inversion, ascending and descending twists and two vertical rolls. The coaster propels visitors up to a height of nearly 50 meters offering a spectacular view over the park. (eap)
