The world’s first LEGOLAND celebrates its 50th anniversary – on this occasion, the park, which is located in the Danish town of Billund, will kick off the upcoming season with a special event this coming Saturday, including the official opening of the upgraded “LEGOREDO® Town” theme area featuring the new “Flying Eagle” family coaster (a Force Coaster model from German manufacturer Zierer, cf. our report in EAP, 2/18).

This event will also see royal attendance: Prince Joachim of Denmark and his wife Marie will participate in the opening of LEGOLAND and the inauguration of the renovated theme area, including a visit to the park’s “Miniland” area. The royal visit emphasizes the importance of LEGOLAND, which is part of the international LEGO Group, for the Danish economy. (eap)
