Bavaria: Gigantic Investments in Therapeutic Spas

Bavarian therapeutic spas are facing the challenges of the future with investments totalling over 400 million euros. With these investments, the facilities aim to position themselves as modern centres of competence for healthcare and preventative treatment. Wonderful thermal baths with wellness facilities, various new highlights and a broad range of experience, even in new therapies, are the perfect extension to the services that have been offered by these famous spas over the past few years. Exclusive spas have modernised their facilities and services for sums between 12 and 23 million euros. Older baths, rich with tradition, have been given a makeover. At the same time, new thermal bath temples have been constructed: Kissalis thermal bath in Bad Kissinger for 38 million euros, AQACUR-bathing world in Bad Kötzting for 13 million euros, Bad Steben thermal baths for over 18 million (we presented the project in detail to readers in EAP 4/2005), Franken thermal baths in Bad Windsheim for 25 million and the Rupertus thermal baths in Bad Reichenhall for 38 million euros. This year, a thermal bath complex is to be opened in Bad Aibling for 25 million euros – a meditative world of recuperation and bathing with spectacular architecture. (eap)
