Skihalle Wittenburg

This Easter, the first indoor half pipe to meet international FIS standards was opened at the Snow Funpark in Wittenburg, one of Europe's largest such facilities. The half pipe is 130 metres long, 18 metres wide and has an 18-degree slope. This means that it can host the first international world cup level tournament in the future… and not only when there’s no snow at the classic European winter sports areas. The centre, located right on the Hamburg-Berlin motorway, was opened at the beginning of December 2006 and welcomed 100,000 visitors in its first month alone! (eap)
