Head of IAAPA Surprisingly Announces Retirement

J. Clark Robinson, President and CEO of the IAAPA announced his retirement effective February 1st, 2006. He was appointed president of the world’s largest organisation of amusement parks and manufacturers in July 2002. The announced retirement is a surprise, as no indications were made during the IAAPA show in Atlanta. Even when speaking directly with Robinson, nothing suggested that he was to “take a bow” just a few days later. Robinson will, however, remain associated with the IAAPA as its “Executive Director of Global Affairs.” His successor Charles Bray was hired as IAAPA’s Chief Financial Officer in June 2004. He gained experience in top-level management at two different associations in recent years. (eap)
