10 Years Swarovski Crystal Worlds

In late November the Crystal Worlds in Wattens/Tyrol, which were stylishly designed by André Heller in 1995, celebrated their 10th anniversary with around 400 honorary guests. Since opening to the public, this world-famous object d'art has attracted approximately six million visitors from around the world and is not only a landmark of Tyrol, but of Austria as well. Consequently, it is has achieved an economic influence that is not be underestimated in times of empty tills and economisation in Europe. The festivities also included the opening of the open air installation “fadin’ to whiteout.”  “Whiteout” is an arctic phenomenon that is particularly well known to meteorologists and could lead to a new perception of light.   “Fadin’ to whiteout” is an experimental room installation at the Crystal Worlds park, where the visitor can “smell” light in an artistically extraordinary form while soaking up the “white noise” with all his or her senses.
