Germany: Tobias Gercke Takes Over as New Managing Director of Castor Manufacturer Räder-Vogel

(v.l.n.r.): Carsten Henning, Tobias Gercke, Dieter Henning

On October 1, 2022, Tobias Gercke (48) took over as managing director of Räder-Vogel, a Hamburg-based wheel and castor manufacturer that also equips roller coasters, Ferris wheels and water attractions with its heavy-duty castor solutions. The previous managing partners Dieter Henning (79) and his son Carsten Henning (50) will leave the operational management of the company and join its advisory board. Dieter Henning had spearheaded the company since 1980 and, together with his son Carsten, took over its management completely in 2005. Under their leadership, the globally active company expanded steadily, so that today it can register an annual turnover of over 100 million euros. The new Managing Director Tobias Gercke began his career at Räder-Vogel in 1995, initially working as a turner. He completed in-service training courses up to the master craftsman title and also completed the IHK (German Chamber of Industry & Commerce) exam for technical business economist. Since 2011, he has acted as technical manager and in this position was responsible for the entire technology and production management of the company, which now has some 600 employees.

“We are very pleased that we were able to name our long-time senior employee Tobias Gercke as managing director. He has been with our company for 27 years and has taken on more and more responsibility over the years. We are convinced that he will continue the positive development of the company,” says Dieter Henning. “Tobias Gercke is highly respected both among the shareholders and among our employees, customers and suppliers. He is a strong leader and a great colleague with a high level of technical expertise who is very familiar with all areas of the company,” adds Carsten Henning.

“Räder-Vogel is an exciting and highly innovative company with dedicated employees that has been my professional home for many years. I am very pleased to be able to continue to play a key role in shaping the fortunes of this company in the future,” concludes Tobias Gercke. (eap)
