Mission Space: DOF Presents New Digital Park Concept

Recently, the Turkey-based company DOF introduced a new digital park solution under the name “Mission Space”, which can be described as a walk-through experience with a space theme. In a group of six people, visitors embark on a 30 to 40 minutes long space mission adventure. During the mission, guests discover eight areas in which they experience different simulator attractions of the supplier’s portfolio. Each simulator experience is designed in harmony with the space scenario.

In a preparation and welcome area, guests put on their astronaut costumes over their clothes (1). In a next step, visitors will obtain important information on the upcoming space adventure via screens and holograms in a preshow area (2). Then they enter a rocket simulator (3) in order to experience a rocket launch into space. After arriving at the “ISS”, they will embark on a journey to the Moon in the “Interplanetary Voyager” spaceship simulator (4), where an interactive shooting adventure awaits visitors. Here, the astronauts have to shoot asteroids of different sizes by competing with their companions. The collected points will be displayed on digital score boards and can also be found on a huge display at the entrance of the park, on the corresponding website and mobile app. After that, guests arrive at the space base on the Moon (5), where they can explore Earth’s satellite on the “Planet Explorer” simulator, a huge moon vehicle (6). Here, guests encounter the second interactive gaming experience. While exploring the Moon surface, passengers will collect cosmic mines. The collected mines will be brought back to the space base for further examination (7). Having successfully completed the mission, the astronaut team quickly returns back to Earth with the spaceship (8). At the end of the experience, guests receive their “Real Astronaut” title and ID card with their photo, which they can take home as a space mission souvenir.

The total experience lasts around one hour, with a capacity of between six to 30 people per session (six sessions per hour). Other topics and themes such as underwater, time travel, zombies are possible. The first installation of a Mission Space park, for which DOF Robotics was recognized with an IAAPA Brass Ring Award Best New Product last fall, was realized at the Camlica Tower in Istanbul, a telecommunications tower opened in the city on the Bosporus in 2021.
