Near London / UK: Harry Potter Film Studios Offer Tour through Film Set as of 2012

The Leavesden Film Studios, about 30 kilometers north-west of Central London and since 2010 called Warner Bros. Studios, Leavesden, are the home studio of movies like “GoldenEye”, “Sleepy Hollow” or “Inception”. Also all of the eight “Harry Potter” movies were made there. Since 2010, when the American film producer Warner Bros. purchased the English studio, that part of the studio including the Harry Potter set has been refurbished and expanded for around 160 million Euros and is now being turned into “Warner Bros. Studio Tour London”. As of spring 2012, visitors will be able to explore the film set during a three-hour tour taking them behind-the-scenes and showing them original costumes and props. Some parts of the partially guided tour are interactive, whereas other items cannot be touched by the guests because of their unique and exclusive character. Food and beverages will be provided during the tour and are also available at the Studio Café. A souvenirs and gift shop will, of course, round up the new attraction. In contrast to Universal Studios Orlando’s “Wizarding World of Harry Potter” in Florida, the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London can rather be characterized as backstage tour with exhibition-style. Pre-booking tickets are available at www.wbstudiotour.co.uk. (eap)
