Germany: Merlin Entertainments Plans New Attraction for Berlin

“Little BIG City Berlin” is the name of a new leisure destination created by Merlin Entertainments Group, which is currently under construction in Berlin/Germany. Visitors to “little Berlin” will immerse into the city in miniature size, passing by 3D models of iconic sights like “Café Achteck”, the Wall and the Brandenburg Gate. Special effects and projections will bring the history of past eras to life – thematically, the visit starts at the time when the city was founded in the Middle Age.

Visitors take part in history participating in interactive offers such as helping to construct the Castle of Berlin or trying to manage innovative machines in times of the Industrial Revolution. In this way, the new destination seeks to differentiate its concept from already existing miniature worlds (Miniatur Wunderland Hamburg, LEGO® reproductions etc.). The new experience is going to open in summer 2017 and will be available in German and English. According to Merlin, the global expansion of the “Little BIG City” brand towards further strategic locations is already planned. In addition to Madame Tussauds, SEA LIFE & Aquadom Berlin, a LEGOLAND® Discovery Center and Berlin Dungeon, “Little BIG City” marks the fifth attraction of Merlin Entertainments in Germany’s capital.
