Europe: Parks Draw Visitors with Halloween Spectacles

The Valencian amusement park Terra Mítica, which is located close to Alicante, is getting its guests in the mood for the upcoming Halloween night on October 31st with a versatile and gruesome entertainment program. Under the motto “You will go insane” (Sp.: “perderás la cabeza”), the park offers shows for guests of all ages. Kids can enjoy the “Cryptic Tales” fun performance, putting the creeps factor in the background to laugh about haunting spirits. Also, Terra Mítica is promoting its special “Halloween Night” event on October 31st, when exclusive shows, animations and a themed labyrinth will await visitors. The park’s “Iberia” theme area will be turned into “Necrotown”, which – according to the storyline – has been cursed by the “undeath” and where mystical happenings occur. With an area of more than 7,000 square meters, “Necrotown” is the largest Halloween horror scenery in Europe, according to the park.

In Germany, amusement parks and attractions are also celebrating the creepy time: Plopsa’s Holiday Park offers a “Kids Halloween” children’s program featuring the new “Hollys Halloween Party” show, which is staged daily through October 31^st. Teens can look forward to Holiday Park’s “Halloween Fright Night” events (on October 14^th, 21^st, 28^th & 31^st) featuring four scare zones with live actors. Another example is Karls Erlebnis-Dorf in Elstal (close to Berlin) – at this park, families will be entertained with a special “creeps night” event on October 21^st. Under the motto “Hansel and Gretel” it includes a fire show, a tales narrator and a puppeteers.

Larger amusement parks also offer a differentiated Halloween program: Walibi Belgium, for instance, is promoting its special events under the slogan “The largest Halloween event in Belgium”, offering a designated kids area, the new “Bloc H” haunted house for teens as well as monsters, zombies and other creatures of fear for adult visitors. On eight dates, Dutch Toverland will celebrate Halloween, with five scare zones, two haunted houses and a labyrinth. (eap)
