Germany: Therme Erding Opens New „The Big Wave“ Hybrid Slide

The Galaxy Water Slide World at Bavaria’s Therme Erding has recently added VR technology to its existing “Space Glider” slide, bringing its offer for action-seeking guests to a new level (read also our report in EAP, 4/18). Today, the slides park will launch another novelty in its outdoor area, which is one of the world’s first stainless steel hybrid constructions – “The Big Wave”. Manufactured by Wiegand Maelzer, the new outdoor attraction combines the Boomerang and Sidewinder slide types (cf. EAP, 4/18). Sitting on double tyres, sliders start from a height of 18 meters to rush along the 180-meter long slide at a maximum speed of 45 km/h.

In addition to the novelties at Galaxy, Therme Erding has recently expanded its offer with the inauguration of a new lake sauna and chalets (cf. EAP news from June 13th, 2018). In the last year, the owner family Wund has invested a total amount of 3.5 million Euros into Germany’s largest thermal spa and bathing complex. (eap)
