Germany: Heide Park Resort Markets Teaching Material on Its “Colossos” Wooden Coaster

Merlin Entertainment’s Heide Park Resort located in Soltau (north of Germany) will relaunch its “Colossos” wooden coaster this upcoming summer season – the ride has been out of operation since 2016 to undergo comprehensive modernization works, including the complete renewal of the 1.5-kilometer long wooden track (cf. EAP News from January 11th, 2018).

In the course of the forthcoming reopening of its signature ride, the park recently released new teaching material on its popular wooden coaster with versatile learning tasks for kids and teens, challenging them to carry out velocity calculations and develop coaster concepts themselves. In addition, the booklet provides a summary of the history of the rollercoaster and interesting facts about Colossos itself. The teaching material is designed for different class levels and subjects.

Heide Park Resort will start into the new season on April 6th this year and invite schools again to visit the park as an extracurricular place of learning. Find out more about the relaunch of Colossos and other novelties at Europe’s amusement parks in our Park Report, to be published in EAP issue 2/19 (March/April).
