Indonesia: Stunt Show Dark Ride Announced for New Trans Studio Bali Amusement Park

Indonesia’s Trans Studio group, operator of several shopping malls (TransMart), indoor play parks (KidCity) and two indoor amusement parks (the Trans Studio Parks in Makassar and Bandung), plans to open two new indoor amusement parks in Cibubur (Jakarta, island of Java) and on the island of Bali in the second quarter of this year. On Bali, the indoor park will form part of a two-floor shopping complex. One of its main attractions will be a stunt show-themed dark ride dubbed “Road Rage” in which live actors will perform dynamic stunts. The attraction is being designed by Legacy Entertainment from California, America’s Oceaneering company supplies the ride system.

“For the first time ever, visitors to an Indonesian theme park will experience a dark ride that exceeds those in many of the world’s top international theme parks. We love working with Trans Studio because they’re pioneers. They have no interest in rehashing what’s been done elsewhere. Our teams are united by a singular creative challenge – to create the best regional park dark rides ever imagined,” comments Lee Roe, Legacy’s Creative Director for the project.

More than 1.2 million visitors are expected to visit Trans Studio Park Bali in its first year of operation. In Cibubur, on the neighboring island of Java, the indoor theme park will also be integrated into a shopping complex (with three levels), in addition there will be a four-star-hotel and apartments – over 1.6 million visitors are expected there for the first year after its opening.
