Germany: Manuela Stone Appointed New CEO of LEGOLAND Deutschland Resort

Germany’s LEGOLAND Deutschland Resort today announced the appointment of Manuela Stone (photo) as new CEO of the theme park and holiday village, effective on May 10th this year. Stone, who currently serves as Director of the park’s gastronomic division, takes over the position from Martin Kring, who leaves the company after more than four years at its helm to return to his home country Denmark to face new challenges in the construction and real estate sector.

As a trained gastronomer, Stone started her career at Legoland Deutschland in February 2002, three months before the official park opening. As Director of the park’s gastronomic division she was responsible for the planning, development and implementation of gastronomic concepts. In 2015, Stone also served as Interim Managing Director of British LEGOLAND Windsor Resort for a period of three months.

“Legoland is a world of its own. Families who come here are looking to enjoy a break from everyday life, spending time together. During their park stay, they want to have fun, make new experiences and relax. It is our task to make this stay as pleasant as possible. This requires a great deal of commitment and employee motivation,” explains Stone, who will lead a team of up to 1,300 seasonal employees and 270 permanent workers in her new position.

This year, the German Legoland park opened its new “Land of the Pharaohs” theme area, immersing guests into the world of Ancient Egypt with three exciting family attractions (cf. EAP 3/2019). (eap)
