Australia: New Theme Area with Three New Major Rides Announced for Sea World Gold Coast

Australia’s Village Roadshow Theme Parks operating group has recently announced its plans to invest a sum of 50 million AUD (approx. 31 million EUR) into its related leisure and theme parks located on the Australian Gold Coast. A huge part of the amount will flow into a new theme area at Sea World, which will receive the name of “New Atlantis” and feature three main attractions.

Still in this year (in December), “Vortex” will open as the first of the three rides, an 18 meter high Top Spin Suspended from Huss Rides. “Trident” is set to follow in April 2020: the Starflyer will take guests on a thrilling spin in 52 meters height. The largest of the new attractions will be the “Leviathan” wooden coaster, which is scheduled to start operation in December next year. The 32 meter high coaster will be supplied by Martin & Vleminckx.

“The ‘New Atlantis’ has been designed as a fully immersive precinct with the rides complimented by sleek, eye-catching and architecturally aesthetic theming including waterfalls, fountains, statues and hanging gardens to take guests on the ultimate Atlantean adventure,” explains Clark Kirby, CEO of Village Roadshow Theme Parks.
