World Tourism Organisation: Industry Gripped by Crisis Worldwide

The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) announced in October that worldwide tourism is in danger of declining by up to six percent this year. At the same time, with an eight-percent drop in sales, Europe has suffered above-average repercussions from the crisis. Africa on the other hand has noted a four-percent increase in turnover for 2009 thanks to some holiday destinations that are booming there. (eap)
