Germany: New Sauna Area Open at Gumbala Indoor Pool

After a short renovation phase with an investment volume of 500,000 euros, the Gumbala Bade- und Saunaland in Germany’s North Rhine-Westphalia region has opened a new sauna area at the end of September. The design of the “half-timbered sauna“ is locally inspired and will provide guests with hourly event infusions of 80 degrees and more, which are aromatised and present new infusion techniques. Also new is the “slate sauna“, which provides guests with a temperature of 55 to 60 degrees and a humidity of 50 percent. The former “mining sauna“ was transformed into a dry sauna providing the hottest sauna experience of the pool with a temperature up to 90 degrees. Another novelty is the relaxing Physiotherm infrared cabin. After the sauna session visitors can further relax in the sauna lounge, which is equipped with a fireplace and modern sevice catering. The new area was designed by GMF in collaboration with the Architekturbüro Michelmann from Hanover, Germany. The sauna cabins where built by manufacturer Johannes Jelitto. (eap)
