Unilever Food Solutions Starts Collaboration with Catapult to Address Hospitality Staff Shortages

In order to counter staff shortages in the hospitality sector, Unilever Food Solutions, (in short UFS, the catering supplies division of the Unilever consumer goods group of companies) is inviting its customers to make use of the “Catapult” job platform, which has been developed and managed by England-based Catapult company since its launch in 2015. Company and personnel managers can publish their respective needs on the platform in order to fill vacancies, even at short notice. The system, which is based on Artificial Intelligence (AI), helps with the selection process in order to find a candidate with the required skills. Employees also have the opportunity to evaluate the cooperation and receive a time sheet.

“The hospitality industry originally relied on more traditional human resource management, such as the recruitment of staff through agencies or temporary hiring at peak times. But these methods do not really give employees the flexibility they often desire. By partnering with Unilever Food Solutions we enable companies in this sector to be more flexible and make a difference in the industry,” explains Steffen Wulff Peterson, co-founder of Catapult.

“Finding good staff is undeniably a problem in the hospitality industry today. At Unilever Food Solutions, we are looking to provide chefs with practical solutions to run a high-performance business. Catapult is an excellent example of this and I am delighted to be working with them as a team,” adds Harm van Tongeren, CEO of Unilever Food Solutions in the D-A-CH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland).
