Phantasialand, Brühl: The “Matamba” theme hotel celebrates its birthday

The “Matamba” theme hotel, which sleeps a total of 500 guests, has been inviting Phantasialand visitors to stay the night for more than a year now. The 3-star-plus-hotel has more than 117 individually designed rooms. The hotel operator, Phantasialand Schmidt-Löffelhardt GmbH & Co. KG, has now struck an initial positive capacity balance: since opening its doors on 14 August 2008, “Matamba” has welcomed more than 50,000 overnight guests. The hotel therefore on average operates at 70 percent capacity – and during the summer holidays, “Matamba” is almost completely fully booked. Phantasialand currently has a total of 1,150 hotel beds – approx. 10 percent of the amusement park visitors now stay over in the park’s hotels. (eap)
