Monte Mare Kreuzau Optimistic About Future of Former “Rurwelle”

For some months now, the Monte Mare Group has been operating Rurwelle, a recreational pool facility with a South-Sea flair and a deficit of around 800,000 euros per annum. Roughly 200,000 euros will now be invested in a range of smaller types of improvements. One focus of the future work consists in refurbishing the sauna area in order to roughly double the low number of annual visitors (16,000 in 2008) within two years.  This alone should cut the annual deficit by a few hundred thousand euros. Potential savings on a scale of an ample 100,000 euros were also agreed on in the area of electricity and heat consumption. After completion of all of the improvements currently underway, Monte Mare Kreuzau wants to launch an offensive marketing campaign. (eap)
