USA: Florida Aquarium Reopens as of Today

Today sees the reopening of Tampa Bay-based Florida Aquarium. After almost eight weeks of forced closure the aquarium, which celebrates ist 25th anniversary this year (cf. EAP 2/2020), now welcomes back visitors under restrictions. Measures that have been taken are for examplestrict attendance limits, online ticket sales only and the obligation for staff towear face masks in public spaces of the facilitiy.

Several interactive experiences, such as the outdoor play area and animal touch exhibits, will remain temporarily closed. “We have been preparing for our re-opening for several weeks. From conducting a deep clean of all exhibits to removing unnecessary touchpoints to requiring online ticket sales, The Florida Aquarium is well prepared to provide a safe, clean and fun experience for our guests,” comments Andy Wood, The Florida Aquarium Chief Operating Officer.
