USA: Disney Announces Re-Design of “Splash Mountain“

The Walt Disney Company just announced a complete make-over of its “Splash Mountain“ log flume rides at Disneyland Park California and Magic Kingdom Park in Florida. Where visitors have been immersed into the world of “Song of the South“, a Disney musical film from 1946, after the redesign of the attractions they will meet characters such as the jazz-loving alligator “Louis“ and “Princess Tiana“ from Disney's latest cartoon movie “The Princess and the Frog“ (2009). Despite the new design, the southern flair of the attractions will be preserved.

“It’s a great story with a strong lead character, set against the backdrop of New Orleans and the Louisiana bayou. In 1966, Walt himself opened New Orleans Square when it became the first new “land” added to Disneyland park, so it feels natural to link the story and the incredible music of ‘The Princess and the Frog‘ to our parks,“ explains Michael Ramirez, Public Relations Director of Disneyland Resorts.
