German manufacturer Wiegand.Waterrides supplied the world’s first stainless steel 8-lane mat racer, to the recently opened water park in Xiangyang, China, which was developed by the OTC Group. The new attraction starts on a height of 15 meters and provides guests with 120 metres of sliding fun. Sliding through a 360 degree helix and several fast-paced waves, visitors are reaching a maximum speed of eleven m/s on the slide. The new lane tacer has an average gradient of 15 percent and is perfectly made for slide races.

“We are very proud to be part of this gigantic project and to have built one of the water park's largest slide attractions. It is also the first stainless steel racer slide in China. China is and remains an important market for us. Quality from Germany is very appreciated there,” says Hendrik Wiegand managing director of Wiegand.Waterrides.

Additionally, the company also supplied a 20-meter-long family tumble wave slide and two “cannonball“ attractions. (eap)
