Drayton Manor, UK: Theme park breaks world record for longest Thomas the Tank Engine train track

Utilising 10,530 pieces from the new TOMY Thomas Track Master train set, the record breaking track was set up just outside the main entrance to Thomas Land and measured 1,800 metres in length. It was built by the Royal British Legion Industries and took a team of six people over a week to complete. The record attempt was made on behalf of Drayton Manor, HIT Entertainment, owner of the Thomas & Friends brand, and toy maker TOMY and was built to break the current Guinness World Record for the longest toy train track, which previously stood at 1,650.14 metres. That means the Drayton Manor track beats them with around 150 metres. (eap)
