Germany: “Emma“ the Steam Locomotive Finds New Home at Europa-Park

“Emma“ is the name of the steam locomotive and faithful companion to “Jim Button“ and “Luke“, the two main characters known from Michael Ende’s childrens’ books published in the 1960s. For the latest German film adaptions of “Jim Button and Luke the Engine Driver“ (2018) and “Jim Button and the Wild 13“ (2020) three 2.2 tons heavy locomotives were built as requisites – one of these three has now found its way from the production site at Filmstudios Babelsberg to the Europa-Park.

Visitors to the theme park are now able to have an up-close look at the locomotive. “Emma” was placed directly adjacent to the “Jim Knopf – Reise durch Lummerland“ (Engl.: Jim Button – Ride through Morrowland) childrens’ ride, which invites kids and families to a three minute-long ride through the world of Jim and Luke.
