Canada: Immersive Van Gogh Exhibit Offers Corona Suited Drive-in Art Exhibition

In a five-storey-high building the Immersive Van Gogh Exhibit, located in Toronto, offers a newly concepted art exhibition in accordance with the current corona regulations. On a total ground space of around 56,000 square meters (600,000 square feet) and in rooms with eight-metre-high walls visitors are able to experience a 35-minute-long light and projection mapping show dedicated to the Dutch artist Vincent Van Gogh (1853-1890) sitting in their cars. The building fits up to fourty cars but will also welcome visitors without a vehicle for whom social distancing circles will be in place once lockdown restrictions in Canada will be eased.

52 projectors, audio technology and light installation have been installed to bring Van Gogh’s artworks to life. To combine all show components the “Medialon Showmaster LE“, supplied by British manufacturer 7thSense was implemented. “We are proud to see Showmaster LE at work in such a unique installation that overcame challenges presented by COVID-19, thanks to the creative and technical efforts of the team. It has become an experience that has embraced social distancing with a truly innovative approach,” comments Eric Cantree, 7thSense’s Director of Products. (eap)
