Erding Thermal Spa: “Spin-Off” for Austria in Foreseeable Future?

During a recent four-hour visit to the spa “Therme Erding”, Jörg Haider, Governor of Carinthia in Austria, informed himself in detail of the concept and proposition of Europe’s largest thermal spa and sauna facility. The unanimous opinion of the five-person delegation from Klagenfurt: “Austria needs something like this” to give year-round tourism some new impulses. Further meetings have been arranged and in all probability, it looks like the Erding thermal spa will be spinning off into Austria in the foreseeable future. As announced, the new sauna complex that opened around a year ago has since attracted roughly 400,000 guests who have taken the opportunity to relax in the 27 different new saunas on offer. And a total of 1.4 million visitors came to the Erding spa during the same period. At the “Rutschenparadies Galaxy” (slide paradise), an adventure pool is also to be created for kids and families.
