Rügen: New Dinosaur Park

A new dinosaur park is set to open at the end of April 2008 on the Baltic Sea isle of Rügen. A total of 106 life-size primeval animal models will “populate” the park. The dinos were produced by the Bernd Wolter Design GmbH based in Rehburg-Loccum, Lower Saxony, which sees itself as the world’s leading manufacturer of authentic, prehistoric animal models. At ten metres high, the herbivore brachiosaurus will tower over the rest of its fellow dinos on exhibit. The open-air dinosaur museum in Münchehagen (near Hanover) is the largest facility of this type in Germany and has 220 dinosaur models. (eap)
