Australia: Dreamworld Plans Multi-Million-Dollar-Investment Into Accommodation Offering

Ardent Leisure's Dreamworld & WhiteWater World in Australia.

The Australian Dreamworld theme park, which is operated by Ardent Leisure, released first details about a currently still non-binding agreement it has entered into with the accommodation developer Evolution Group to set-up plans for the park’s future expansion into a resort destination. 75 million Australian Dollar (approx. 48.5 million Euros) are the estimated investment volume to develop new accommodation facilities such as a four-star 250 room resort-style hotel, 40 bungalows and a five-star tourist park with 100 powered sites. Additional restaurants, conference rooms and leisure facilities such a swimming pool and a gymnasium are planned as well.

“The hotel and tourist park will complement Dreamworld as a premium entertainment destination and add a new level of convenience for guests who will have our theme park and water park on their accommodation’s doorstep,“ says Greg Yong, CEO of Dreamworld. John Robinson Jr. from Evolution Groups adds: “We are incredibly excited to be taking these first steps with the Dreamworld team and we are looking forward to working collaboratively to deliver guests a range of high-quality accommodation options.“ (eap)
