“The Music Factory” – Norwegian Hunderfossen Theme Park Announces Musical Novelty for Summer 2023

After Hunderfossen treated its guests this year with the new rollercoaster experience “Fyr & Flamme” (a Bobsled Coaster from Gerstlauer, see Just Opened in EAP 4/2022), things will get musical in the coming season at the amusement park located near Lillehammer. The park is investing around 18 million Norwegian Kroner (approx. 1.7 million Euros) in the new attraction, which will be called “Musikkfabrikken” or in English “The Music Factory” and is being developed in collaboration with Norwegian pianist Sigurd Slåttebrekk and the Oslo Philharmonic symphony orchestra. As the park states, the new experience will be based on an internationally unique attraction concept. “Absolutely fantastic that a theme park has decided to invest in an attraction of this type,” comments Sigurd Slåttebrekk.

By the means of dance, animation and orchestral music, guests of all ages will be playfully inspired for the topic of music in an interplay of classical and contemporary music. Norwegian animation producer Fredrik Fottland and animation studio Expanse will be responsible for most of the content of the attraction, which is being built in an 800-square-meter building. Austrian company Attraktion! has been brought on board to supply state-of-the-art AV technology. Designer Nick Farmer, who has been active in design for the park for many years and was involved in several of its realized projects (for instance in the 4D simulator attraction “Reodor Felgen’s Hyperakselerator“, cp. EAP 4/2021), will again play a major role in the design of the attraction. More details about the new attraction will be available in one of our upcoming EAP magazine issues. (eap)
