Great Britain: Huge Public Support for Latest London Paramount Entertainment Resort Plans

Following the announcement that British architect Terry Farrells has been appointed to design the masterplan for the London Paramount Resort planned in the Noth Kent region (cf. EAP-News from May 22, 2015), the operator recently published the results of a public survey with regard to the project. According to the survey, 83 % of the local people approve the illustrative masterplan which includes themed rides, spaces for events, cinemas, theatres and night clubs. Furthermore, 77 % of those having completed the feedback forms are convinced the Entertainment Resort will bring long-term benefits for the region and another 83 % support the connectivity improvements including public footpaths and cycle routes along the River Thames. Apart from the consultation, more than 3,000 people had the chance to view a scaled model of the entertainment attraction in the framework of public events in April and May. To minimize the impact on the local road network, London Paramount is working on plans for a new access road into the Entertainment Resort that separates all visitor traffic from local traffic. Furthermore, Fenlon Dunphy, on behalf of London Paramount, points out the creation of around 27,000 new jobs in connection with the project. “The Entertainment Resort will be an outstanding destination that will attract audiences from all over the world and the economic benefits will reach far into Kent, London and the wider nation.” (eap)
