USA: New „Ghostbusters“-Virtual Reality Experience to Open at Madame Tussauds New York

Madame Tussauds New York is currently developing the exclusive virtual reality experience “Ghostbusters: Dimension” in its already existing area “Ghostbusters Experience” in cooperation with Sony Pictures, Ghost Corps and THE VOID, which is scheduled to open on July 1st, 2016 − in time for the release of the new movie “Ghostbusters”.

This unique VR-attraction promises to offer a multisensory and fully immersive experience, which is based on the movie’s story. The construction works of “Ghostbusters: Dimension” have already begun. The cinematic experience becomes alive with state-of-the-art technology, authentic props, costumes, gadgets and exclusive content to whisk visitors into the world of a ghost hunter. After exploring the “Ghostbusters” Headquarters, guests experience the epic finale, in which visitors take part in a ghost hunt of their own, saving New York City from paranormal villain. This supernatural encounter will also include figures of the “Ghostbusters” crew from the new movie.

The complex environment that combines physical props and sets, real-time interactive effects, and virtual reality technology is designed by THE VOID in partnership with Ivan Reitman, Paul Feig and Sony Pictures. “Our new collaboration with Sony Pictures and THE VOID has paved the way to delivering an unforgetable experience for our visitors.
