USA/Japan: Universal Parks & Resorts to Add Nintendo-Themed Areas

In 2015, Universal Parks & Resorts and Japan’s video game developer Nintendo singned a strategic partnership agreement on their future cooperation (c.f. EAP news from May 19th, 2015), so it was only a matter of time when the companies would announce the development of the first Nintendo-themed areas at Universal parks.

An official statement now reveals that Universal Studios Japan, Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood will be the first to open such theme areas immersing their guests into Nintendo’s video games featuring “Super Mario” & Co. The offer for visitors will be comprised of multiple attractions as well as shops and restaurants. Details on the planned Nintendo worlds will be announced independently for each Universal park – for all three, they are scheduled to open over the next years. (eap)
