Germany: Public Services Osnabrück Record Positive Balance for 2016

Die neue Trichterrutsche "Twist" im Nettebad.

Public Services Osnabrück (G.: Stadtwerke Osnabrück) recently presented their results of this past 2016 season, showing stable visitor numbers for all three bathing complexes Nettebad, Moskaubad and Schinkelbad – all together, they registered a total of 1.23 million guests. Since the opening of the new “Twist” funnel slide in December 2016 (c.f. EAP news from December 19th, 2016), Nettebad Osnabrück could already expand its catchment area, as shown by a recent survey on the guests’ postal codes. “To ensure the efficiency of our bathing complexes it was time to inaugurate another large attraction, following the opening of “Sloop” in 2011. By adding “Twist” to our offer, Nettebad is now one of the largest slide parks in northern Germany,” said Wolfgang Hermle, head of the bathing complexes. Also, Schinkelbad could maintain its visitor number of some 257,000 guests and Moskaubad welcomed around 2,000 visitors more than in 2015, thanks to an extended operation of its “Dschungelpfad” ropes course adventure (Eng.: “Jungle Path”) beyond summer season (c.f. EAP news from March 15th, 2016).

Visitors to Nettebad can already look forward to the new “Nettedrom” E-Kart track, which is scheduled to open on March 19th this year. (eap)
