Visitors to Austria’s Swarovski Kristallwelten can now discover four newly designed “Chambers of Wonder” (there are 16 chambers in total at the park), in which international artists showcase their personal interpretation of crystals and which are housed in the head of “The Giant” – the icon of Swarovski Kristallwelten.

Indian star designer Manish Arora, who has also been involved in this year’s “Summer in the Giant” summer festival at Swarovski Kristallwelten (c.f. EAP news from July 6th, 2017), created a world full of emotions in his chamber: a glittering staircase full of sparkling love letters, the façade of an Indian temple in dazzling neon light and a total of 19 heart fairy figures designed according to traditional Indian craftsmanship techniques fascinate the viewer. The theme "Heroes of Peace" is featured in the second chamber, which was realized by Austrian multimedia artist André Heller. Among other things, visitors can see a projection of life-size holograms of personalities who were awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.

With “Transparent Opacity”, the Israeli artist Arik Levy had already contributed to one of the chambers in the past and has now extended this installation with a kind of labyrinth in which visitors wander from one area to the next. The fourth chamber of wonder is entitled "El Sol", created by Mexican star architect Fernando Romero. A total of 2,880 custom-made Swarovski crystals form a sphere that is exactly one billion times smaller than the sun and illuminated by an internal sphere of LEDs.

“New design projects turn Swarovski Kristallwelten into a lively world of fantasy that never ceases to amaze even our repeat visitors," said Stefan Isser, Managing Director of D. Swarovski Tourism Services GmbH. (eap)
