Finland: Linnanmäki Amusement Park to Open New Launch Coaster in 2019

Finland’s Linnanmäki amusement park, which is located close to the city centre of Helsinki, has recently unveiled its plans to open a new rollercoaster in 2019. “Taiga” will be the name of the new ride, a launch coaster model from Intamin. The 52 meter high coaster will feature a track length of 1.1 kilometers, including two launch sections and four inversions. “Taiga” will reach a maximum speed of 106 km/h. Pia Adlivankin, Managing Director of Linnanmäki, describes the new attraction as a “coaster enthusiasts’ dream”.

“It was an easy choice to select Intamin as our ride provider, since they had the most creative layout suggestion for our challenging terrain. We are truly satisfied with our biggest ride acquisition ever,” commented Anssi Tamminen, Technical Director of Linnanmäki.

“This coaster will impress everyone. The final layout design phase was a true collaborative effort with Linnanmäki, and we were able to come up with a rollercoaster which will set new standards not only in Finland but in the whole Northern Europe and beyond,” explained Sascha Czibulka, Executive Vice President of Intamin. The new rollercoaster will be launched during the 2019 season. (eap)
