Recently, Austria’s EurothermenResorts thermal spa and bathing complex operating group (a brand of OÖ Thermenholding GmbH) presented its plans for the second modernization phase of the Royal four-star hotel, which belongs to Therme Bad Ischl located at the northern edge of the Alps. In a first upgrading phase the hotel has already been expanded with a direct aboveground corridor connection to the Salzkammergut Therme (an offer of Therme Bad Ischl) and a modern convention area with four high-tech seminar rooms. This month, construction works are resumed at the hotel, which counts more than 142 rooms.

The second modernization phase includes the renovation of 112 existing hotel rooms, which will be equipped with air conditioners and a faster WLAN connection. Besides the standard double room category, guests will be able to also choose to stay in regionally designed rooms (e.g. “birch tree suite”). Furthermore, the hotel’s new offer will include a sky lounge on top of the hotel, featuring a modern relaxation area, an infrared cabin, a sauna and an infinity pool, offering a panoramic view of the Alps. Last but not least, the hotel façade will receive a fresh painting, an integral building insulation and new lighting elements. In total, some 14 million Euros are invested into the modernization works, which are scheduled to be fully completed by autumn this year.

“With the new Royal**** Superior Hotel we follow our strategy for our related thermal bathing complexes in the Upper Austria region. The opening of the Salzkammergut thermal bath ten years ago earmarked the beginning of a continued success story, which we are eager to continue in the future […],” commented Markus Achleitner, General Director of EurothermenResorts and since November last year President of the European Waterpark Association (cf.
