Canada: Canada’s Wonderland to Add Wet & Wild Thrills in 2017

Visitors to Canada’s Wonderland leisure park, which is operated by the Cedar Fair Entertainment Company, can look forward to even two new attractions in the upcoming year – a thrill ride named “Soaring Timbers” will open in the theme park area, meanwhile the new “Muskoka Plunge” water slide attraction will be added to the belonging Splash Works waterpark.

Soaring Timbers is an attraction in which riders take place in two massive gondolas that swing through sweeping arcs while rotating 360 degrees. This ride will be the first of its kind in North America. No less thrilling is Muskoka Plunge in the water park area – a 60 feet (18 meter) tall waterslide complex featuring four speed slides. The sliding fun begins in enclosed launch chambers where sliders suddenly plummet into a high-speed free fall through S-curves and 360 degree loops at speed of approximately 40 km/h.

Besides Canada’s Wonderland, the Cedar Fair Entertainment Company operates ten other amusement parks, two waterparks, one indoor waterpark and five hotels. Furthermore, the Cedar Fair Group also operates the Gilroy Gardens Family Theme Park in California under a management contract. (eap)
