Denmark: On-time Opening of Tivoli Garden‘s New Tower Ride

After the non-scheduled construction stop (cf. EAP from February 15, 2016) of the new 3-in-1-Tower ride “Fatamorgana” in Copenhagen’s Tivoli Gardens theme park, construction could be finished now on time for the new season’s start later this month. The official opening of the new 45-meter-attraction, which is equipped with a Kiddie-Bumper-Ride at the foot of the attraction as well as two further ride experiences, will take place on April 28th. Thematically, “Fatamorgana” is a mix of minaret architecture, contemporary art and design culture and the typical oriental architecture of Tivoli.

The German Huss Park Attractions company equipped the new Condor 2G tower with two types of gondolas of different pace, so that younger guests will ascend to the sky on gilded lions and Oryx on illuminated magic carpets. Nevertheless, the passengers will experience the ultimate thrill on the faster version, where the power of 2.5G works on the visitor’s body. The gondolas reach a height of 30 meters, so passengers can enjoy a spectacular view of the streets of Copenhagen.

With an investment volume of 50 million DKK (6.7 million EUR) and a total capacity of 900 passengers per hour, “Fatamorgana” is expected to become a new visitor magnet in Tivoli. (eap)
