France: Futuroscope Announces to Open New “Sébastien Loeb Racing Xpérience“ VR Attraction in 2018

During a press conference held in Paris last week, France’s Futuroscope theme park has unveiled details of the opening of their next major attraction scheduled for April 2018. Dubbed “Sébastien Loeb Racing Xpérience“, the theme park is currently developing an exclusive 5D VR experience in collaboration with French rallye and race driver Sébastien Loeb and marketing agency FrayMédia. First exclusive insights into the attractions concept and its settings were revealed during the event in the presence of the race driver himself. “Futuroscope is constantly reinventing itself by producing new innovations,“ says Dominique Hummel, CEO of Futuroscope. He adds, “By using other technologies, Futuroscope will enhance the further development of virtual reality to get the best out of itself.“

Equipped with VR goggles and a headset, visitors will be fully immersed into the racing experience while sitting on a 6 DOF motion seat. The motions of the seat will be adapted and synchronized to the 360 degree film (produced by FrayMédia), complemented by special effects such as wind and scent. “The new experience will offer a mix of several leading-edge technologies, making this 5D VR attraction a world’s first,“ says Sébastien Loeb enthusiastically. He adds, “I’m very proud to be able to share my passion for motorsports in this priviledged way.“ In a pre-show guests will be able to learn more about the life and career of the nine-time rallye champion.
