GB: Legoland Windsor’s New Theme Area to Feature First Flying Theater in the UK – Opening Scheduled for 29 May

After Legoland Windsor had announced its new “Lego® Mythica: World of Mythical Creatures“ theme area last fall (cf. EAP news of 30 Oct 2020), the Merlin Entertainments group has now revealed the rides and attractions coming to the new realm, scheduled to open on 29 May this year. The area’s anchor attraction will be the “Flight of the Sky Lion“ flying theatre ride – the first installation of this kind of attraction in the UK. It will be an „m-Ride“ from the Taiwanese company of Brogent Technologies, who has already equipped the Legoland parks in Florida, California and Billund with this “compact“ flying theater type (cf. our cover story in EAP 4/2020).

In addition, “Lego Mythica“ will feature the two 13-meter high “Fire and Ice Freefall“ family drop towers and a water attraction dubbed “Hydra’s Challenge“. “We’re thrilled to be bringing the first Flying Theatre ride to the UK and today revealing all the rides and attractions which will make LEGO MYTHICA: World of Mythical Creatures a must-do experience for families in 2021. The whole country has never needed escapism more than they do right now and we’ve worked closely with children and their families to make sure our new land delivers the thrills for everyone, whether it’s their 25th visit to LEGOLAND Windsor or their very first. Subject to Government guidelines, we’re planning to open LEGO MYTHICA on Saturday 29 May […],“ comments Helen Bull, Divisional Director, Legoland Windsor Resort. (eap)
