Germany: “Tegernsee Fantastisch” – A New Indoor Experience World to Open at Germany’s Tegernsee in Summer 2022

The Hotel Bachmair Weissach GmbH & Co. KG has just announced the expansion of its offerings, which currently consist of five hotel and resort facilities around Lake Tegernsee (Bavaria), by the addition of an indoor experience world, which will receive the name of “Tegernsee Fantastisch” and cover an area of around 2,700 square meters. “I configured every detail myself with a team of 15 experts – in one year of pure planning. Each experience has been specially adapted and designed for our Tegernsee world,” explains hotelier Korbinian Kohler. Construction work is scheduled to begin in January, so that the experience world can rise up at its foreseen location at a few minutes’ walk from the Bachmair Weissach Spa & Resort and be inaugurated already in early summer 2022. The imaginative indoor attraction will be themed entirely around the Tegernsee Valley and will be divided into two areas.

The first area will focus on education, entertainment and environment. Children and visitors will learn about sustainability, habitat, home, culture and economy through fun and play. Here, small attractions such as the “Kreuther Karussell” carousel, inspired by the mountaineering village of Kreuth, or the “Überflieger” mini chain carousel will provide for riding fun. A special feature will be the “Wallberg Wall” bouldering wall, the “largest glass bouldering wall in the world”, according to Kohler. Guests will be able to enjoy a view of Lake Tegernsee through a glass wall while climbing. The “Kirschner Alm” adventure farm is being created especially for the youngest visitors. In the middle of this area a “virtual” Tegernsee will be located, around which several houses are being built. There will be educational offerings on the first floor of each house. From the second floors, visitors will be able to walk from house to house over suspension bridges. A large virtual aquarium is to be installed in the “Inside Tegernsee” house in which many species of fish from Lake Tegernsee will “swim” – using tablets, children will be able to project their own “fish creations” into the aquarium.

Adjacent to the first area visitors will find the Gardone restaurant, which will serve delicious pizza and pasta dishes. The second area of the new experience world will be dedicated to action, thrill and future and, unlike the first area, get a rather dark ambience: “A huge dark hall that becomes a mystical place with light installations that will permanently change,” describes Kohler. With the “Waissach Warrior” ninja course, the “Höhenweg” high ropes course and the “Hi! Hupfer” interactive trampoline center, this area will invite to sportive competitions. Among the highlights of this second area will be a YULLBE system named “High Teg” and one of the very first installations of the new flying theater type “Airific” by Mack Rides (see EAP 6/2021). “In this fantastic dark world, we want to make the future and also the future of Tegernsee tangible,” adds Kohler. Other offerings at Tegernsee Fantastisch will include the “Bachmair Waissach Lounge” as well as the “Fantastic Illusions” area, where visitors will be able to create special photo memories through optical illusions.
