Germany: Center Parcs Allgäu – Groundbreaking for Construction Works

The construction project of the new Center Parcs Allgäu park is progressing – last Friday (October 7th, 2016), the groundbreaking ceremony took place on the premises in the town of Leutkirch. Mark Haak Wegmann, CEO of Center Parcs Europe, emphasized in his speech the special location of the new holiday park: “Center Parcs has succeeded in winning this extraordinary region of Germany, the Allgaeu, to build its new park. This follows our portfolio, as our already existing Center Parcs destinations are located in touristic regions.”

The 350 million Euro project covers a total area of 184 hectares and includes a total of 1,000 planned holiday houses. The facility under construction will become Germany’s largest Center Parcs destination. In spring of 2017, construction works of the “Market Dome” and of the “SPA & Country Club” are scheduled to begin. Furthermore, almost half of the holiday homes will be completed within the next year. The interior works are planned to take place in 2018, so that Center Parcs Allgäu can open its doors at the end of the same year.

Dim Hemeltjen from the Dutch consulting company M2Leisure – the client’s representative – recently took over the responsibility for the whole project management. (eap)
