Germany: Horror Labyrinth NRW Announces 2016 Novelties

At the end of 2014, the Horror Labyrinth NRW, which is – according to its own statement – Germany's largest horror maze, moved from the city of Kiel to Bottrop (cf. EAP, issue 5/2014). Shortly before the start of its second season at the new location, the 3,000 square meter large maze, which could increase its visitor numbers last year, announced to what kind of novelties visitors can look forward as of February 19.

The tourist attraction will present a new show room in its 100-minute main show “Im Bann der Finsternis” (Engl.: “Under the Spell of Darkness”), a combination of 16 show and labyrinth sections. In the “Apsis des Lichts” (Engl.: “The Apse of Light”) area, visitors will face a completely new and interactive task. Furthermore, there will be several more novelties, such as additional special effects, partly completely new music and sounds, modified scenes and additional sceneries. “The aim of the current renovation works is to offer our visitors an even more harmonious all-embracing experience with the greatest possible richness of detail, tension and fun [...],” says General Manager Holger Schliemann.

In time with the season opening, Freundeskreis Kirmes und Freizeitparks e.V., Germany's largest association for carnival and amusement park fans, will honor the horror labyrinth with an “FKF award” for the “Im Bann der Finsternis” show as the best novelty in 2015. (eap)
