Germany: MackNeXT and Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg Enter Strategic Partnership

Founded in 2019 by Michael Mack (photo left), MackNeXT, a subsidiary of the Mack International Group, specializes in the development of multi-media entertainment offerings – this year, the company opened its first permanent free roam VR attraction Yullbe in the near vicinity of Europa-Park (cf. EAP cover story 6/2020). In cooperation with the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg a variety of programs are now planned to be developed such as seminars, case studies as well as field trips to Rust. As an additional result of this strategic partnership, two supporting awards for students and alumni of the Filmakademie – the “SCREEN.TIME Pitching Award“ and “AUREA Entertainment Award“ – are also planned to be set up.

Michael Mack, managing partner of Europa-Park, comments: “I’m very pleased about this new partnership with the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg, with which we first worked together in 2017. The renowned university located in Ludwigsburg and our innovation department are not only connected by the love for good storytelling, but also through our shared vision. Together, we want to create a new level of entertainment. [...]“

Prof. Thomas Schadt (photo right), director of Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg, says: “I am also very happy about this cooperation. In our 30-year history, the Filmakademie has always aimed at adapting the latest trends in a flexible and dynamic way. Early on, for example, we integrated serial or interactive formats into the academic training. With MackNeXT we now have an ideal partner at our side to connect game-changing technologies and innovative narrative formats in the future, including the fields of Virtual and Augmented Reality.“ (eap)
