Germany: NAUTICA Swimming Facility Taken Over by GMF

GMF GmbH & Co. KG has taken over the swimming and spa facility NAUTICA in the German city of Magdeburg with effect from May 1st, 2016. After longer-lasting financing problems in the past and the insolvency of the operating company, NAUTICA has been in receivership of the “Amtsgericht” (Eng.: local court) Magdeburg since July 1st, 2015, and was taken over by the GMF on May 1st, this year. This company committed the vivamar Verwaltungs- und Betriebsgesellschaft Magdeburg mbH as the new operator. GMF is one of the leading companies in the field of swimming and sports facilities as well as of spa and wellness resorts. The company currently operates 20 swimming facilities, thermal bathes and resorts under the GMF brands “managed by GMF” and “vivamar” for municipal and private investors. As a subsidiary of the Spanish ASPRO Group GMF has over 30 years’ experience in this area. The “old” NAUTICA is running now under its original name “Nemo Bade-, Sauna- & Fitnesswelt Magdeburg”. GMF plans to optimize and develop the already existing facilities to correspond to current market tendencies in the future and to meet the expectations and wishes of the visitors. Within the measures of development all exiting offers of bathing, sauna, fitness and gastronomy will remain open for the moment. (eap)
